I just love it when someone sees something here they don't like and then tell the writer to just shut up about it. Way to keep the spirit of the free exchange of ideas alive. I guess someone didn't get the memo about not posting something on here that may annoy you. Thanks for keeping us straight.

Stoney, you need to understand that truth is difficult for some people to discuss. They prefer to just not talk about it.

Yes, very well written and extremely intellegent response. A lot of thought went into conveying a point of view.
Poot, do you think you could enlighten us? After all we don't "no" nothing about the subject. Please give us your thoughts on the subject, because you seem to "no" something about it.

Statistics say that in 2005 their was 1.21 million legal abortions, what do you think would happen to all those unwanted children if they were born? All of you people who appose abortion I’m sure would step up and take care of them right? Our economy is in bad shape as it is we can’t take care of the children we already have that are unwanted. What would we do with 1.21 million more? I’m pro choice, not just for the reason above but for many others, children resulting in rape is a big one, think about that. How would you feel as a woman if you were forced to have a child that was forced into your body? Think about how that child would feel as a person when it grew up. It’s a woman’s right to have a child or not to. It may not be fair, or right, but neither is forcing a woman to have a child. I don’t believe in surgical abortions , they should be illegal , they have other ways to abort a unwanted pregnancy , the abortion pill , it causes your body to miscarry , but I has to be done very early in the pregnancy. You have the right to feel any way you want to about abortion, it’s your right.

in my time i have watched girls in horrible situations choose to give birth to children they can't support in a home without violence. They are victims who don't do anything to help themseleves and so they bring in children to this Hell with them. When a girl in a violent relationship gets pregnant, she is in more danger! But even if the baby and mother survive the pregnancy, what kind of lives will that child have. If the mother can change the enviorment and has lots of support that she can get form her family/ community then that's great. Some women know they can't do it. That it's not safe... or fair. Maybe these women can be wonderful mom's at a later time... Also the children of rapes... A rape takes a hell of a toll on a woman's mental and phyiscal health without the threat of child, but add that.... normal hormones of a pregnancy.... It's not right to force someone into that.
childbirths that could kill the mother... what about her aborting thiss one and either adopting or getting healthy enough to try again later.
Women who have had their tubes tied and they get pregnant.... they should have the option of terminating that. There are so many reasons to keep it legal... but the birth control and education to prevent an unwanted pregnancy is needed too. And Obama is willing to provide attention to prevention! Abortions hurt everyone, there's no doubt about it. It's a last resort women choose after examining their situations. Most if not all have a very hard time emotionally after doing it. Of course. But iit's something we changed to make legal because it's needed!

Since I am unable to have children, I'll take some of them. Why is it so expensive for me to adopt? Maybe we should change some adoption laws.

We can’t get the children that we have now in loving homes. Adoption is an option; it shouldn’t cost any thing to take in an unwanted child. If it cost less, I’m sure allot of children would find a happy home.

There was a coworker that was considering abortion because she didn't want a baby. Here, I am praying that I can have a baby. Do you know how much it hurts to want a baby and watch another woman kill hers? You can't help but think "why does God bless her with a baby, and not me? I actually want my blessings." I wanted to shout at her everyday, "I'LL TAKE YOUR BABY!"

OK...maybe they're not babies...13, 7 & 6...but they're all potty trained and they can feed and dress themselves too. I just don't know if I can take it anymore. They're getting too expensive for me in this horrible economy...at least that's what a little bird told me last night. I just had to spend over $100 on each of them for this crazy long school supply list which keeps getting longer and more expensive every year, and don't even get me started on how much I will have to spend next year to buy them school uniforms. Also, their feet grow faster than I can afford shoes, and they play every sport imaginable. The cleats and gloves, the uniforms, all that gatorade, not to mention all the gas to get them to practices and games. They eat snacks like they're going out of style and they will never let you sleep in on your days off. I might even be willing to pay you to take them.

P.S. Before anyone gets all offended, I am just lightening the mood because it is Friday. Who really thinks my wife will let me get rid of them anyways? Speaking of wives...anyone looking for one with three wonderful kids? I really hope she doesn't read this.

a great guy that thinks he is funny?
He comes single without children, three dogs will be tagging along with him though.
Hope he can take his comedy act on the road...will need the money so that he can write that huge check each month!!
:)

Posted by nomarypoppins - Fri, 2008-08-29 11:32

Hey, Mary...smart to keep the kids but get rid of the dogs ! I'll be surprised if you get any takers, seriously. Most of us who are married already have a husband who "thinks" he's funny and we certainly don't want another ;)

I think you are both pretty funny maybe you can headline your act together and hit the road.

Stoney_pe's post sounds remarkably familiar to my own home. I'm gonna keep the kids though, in hopes that one day all of this will pay off and they will take care of us as well as we have them. Whaddayathink ?
Maybe you should think about it too.

Hhave a great Lonnngggg weekend !

YEAH!! When one is dancing on Broadway and the other two are playing for the NY Yankees....I will be well taken care of!! :) I can dream can't I??

As far as going on the road with stoneype...I would hate to make him jealous when the crowd likes me more!! :)
I wonder if the imposter Stoney is busy?? We do have a looooooooongggggggggg weekend!!

Posted by nomarypoppins - Fri, 2008-08-29 12:54

that is exactly the right thing to do! Just say to her what you wanted to shout:"I'LL TAKE YOUR BABY!" The world might then be a little better and more balanced. Great idea, go for it!

Have you tried contacting The Home for Little Wanderers? I don't know where their nearest location is, but they work with people of all backgrounds and economic statuses, so it might be worth some investigation.

All of their locations seem to be in MA.
Maybe you could write a story about them.

I did once, which is why I knew about them. For some reason I thought they had other offices around the country.

Poot, you are wrong. The problem is the freakin' red tape one has to endure to adopt child. I know couples who have waited over 15 years to adopt but never coud get past the adoption agencies. They are a very good parents, he has a business of his own, and they have impeccable histories. They were finally able to adopt only because the mother was referred to them by a friend and she insisted they be the parents. Their daughter is now thriving and enjoying life as you would expect any 5 year old to do.

"I hope and pray that he will b denied receiving our Lord in the Holy Eucharist when he goes to mass. I will be following this and letting people know."
One thing they are big on in the churches I choose to go to is FORGIVNESS... And they hope a person will lead good lives understanding that we are not always perfect... knowing we'll make choices in our lives that we will have to live with forever. Our churches try to teach us a way in which to live, but will be here for us no matter what.
It's hard for me to read a post so cold from a person claiming to be religious. But... I've seen it here before. I hope Obama and Biden win! They gave wonderful speaches at the DNC this week, I hope you alll got to watch them.
And when it comes down to it, I am glad to have leaders who don't make this a religious election. Not one of us have the same beliefs and if you know of a church who has followers that believe the exact same thing, I'm sure the FEDs and ATF already know about them too. Abortion isn't the only thing that should be considered about a canidate. I hope that you all will educate yourselves well on both canidates before you make a decision. Look at the voting history, not what they say now. Try an online survey to see who the canidate that believes like you is.

I have been one of the doubters intil now, but after what I watched last night it was pretty evident that we do need change. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time as I watched. I didn’t want to miss any of it. I even Tivoed the whole thing so I could watch it over and over. I am so energized today. I can see what the buzz is about. I was worried in the beginning, but towards the end, I started to get pretty excited. Coach Spurrier took out Tommy Beecher and put in Chris Smelley and the Gamecocks just crushed NC State. There’s nothing like Carolina Football. Coach Spurrier for POTUS.

I was watching too!! Go Gamecocks!!

How many of the people who are absolutely against anyone having an abortion would ever be faced with that decision for themselves?

Even though I am anti-abortion except in dire circumstances, I can't help but think about the people who condemn others for having an abortion. It's easy to condemn others when there is very little possibility that you will ever have to walk in their shoes. And to assume that all people who make the choice to have an abortion don't agonize over the decision is an error.

A president has to govern according to our existing laws and not according to his personal opinions or religious beliefs that may be in conflict with those laws. That is the reason our country doesn't have Presidents who are also religious leaders and/or clergy for the entire country. If we move in the direction of our President also being our religious leader, which religion should dominate?

I don't know why my post was deleted. I didn't use any profanity and I didn't threaten anyone. I merely stated the truth. It is disgusting, but that is the reality of abortion.
