Cherokee Farms could set zoning precedent

Officials are carefully wading into the proposed Cherokee Farms development in Burton because it is the first significant test case of Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort's protective zoning. Read the story here.

The protective zoning is in place for good reasons. I really don't think that people or developers should expect things to be changed just because they want to make a dollar. As for the noise from the jets it has never bothered any of my 3 girls from sleeping to studing for school. Without the noise then you would be hearing all the traffic, radios being played so god can hear it, and other things that we don't care to hear. I for one enjoy hearing the noise from the jets for that is the sound of freedom and we all know that it does not come free anymore. I really don't think that any service memeber would like the fact that people are wanting changes in zoning rules for profit. For we all know that the out come will be the jobs that we all benefit from the air station will be lost.

No, many people do not want changes in these military zoning rules because of profit reasons, but rather they want the changes to enable us to continue with the freedoms that exist for all American citizens. We want to save our town of Beaufort. Maybe the military empire just needs to buy out everyone in northern Beaufort County and make it all US Federal territory. Oh, and don't forget to reimburse our South Carolina citizens for their moving expenses after the takeover.

It has never stopped building/developement within the Air Station or Laurel Bay. It seems to only affect private land.
