This makes sense that the new Beaufort Visitor's Center would be located on Beaufort's central corrider with easy vehicle access. The Beaufort Town Center will be understood to be "downtown Beaufort" from this point on.

Beaufort Town Center will be known as Stewart Town, and before long he will have attained his goal and the whole town will be known ny that name!

I'm a former employee of the Chamber of Commerce and it was a beautiful old building that spoke of Beaufort's heritage, conveniently located IN the Historic District. Now they're supposed to tell people to drive from the ugly barren commercial district to see the historic district? Half the customers we had were walk-ins from off the street. I doubt the new chamber will get many of those. Moving the Chamber out of the historic district is a horrible idea. What the hell are they thinking? This sends a message that Beaufort is a new kind of town, a shameless commercial town. Developers wanted. Rape our historic city for every bit of culture it has.

Now, in the new center, they won't be bothered by all of those pesky tourists bothering them. Or maybe they can leave an annex in the old building and call it, Beaufort Chamber of Commerce Lite. Unmanned of course.
