Just curious!

Remember a few years back when they were building the Outback Steakhouse, and the city of Beaufort made them change the roof due to wrong shade of green?

PLEASE explain to me how the building on Boundary Street near Pigeon Point Road was allowed to paint the entire building pink!! Sorry Merle Norman, but this building is ugly.

I just don't get it.

Well, the pink building's owners probably didn't get a permit to paint, therefore no 'restrictions' as to color. Now, if the city doesn't approve of the color, they could be subject to a fine. This sadly is the way some people are going because the city makes it so difficult to do anything. You have to pay for so many permits, and there are so many restrictions...or you build it the way you want (or in this case, paint it the color you want) then pay a $500 fine for not getting permits and be done with it.

it is easier to ask forgiveness than to ask for permission.
