dykeman---guilty

WTOC just reported that he was found guilty and already sentenced to life in prison. Justice served. I believe it should have been death, but at least he will probably live the rest of his life in prison.

yea, he may have gotten life when he should have gotten death. now he will have a life in prison that the victim's family has to pay for while they still morn the death of a family member. justice has NOT been served.

then I guess I got to do life," he told an investigator in the wee hours of May 6, 2004.
Life in prison is too lenient for this punk. Too bad we can't provide him with the same sentence he gave his victim.

Not justifying life in prison, but the cost of executing someone is quite often more expensive than paying for them to serve life in prison. This is due to the costs of appeals, time served while awaiting execution, etc.

No extra cost incurred if you throw him out on the rifle range at PI and let the recruits fire. They need practice shooting a moving target anyway. And with so many firing no one will know who shot the lethal round.

You might be on to something. I'll bet it would increase tourism in the area more than the suggested gun fights downtown. Maybe you should take that idea to the Chamber of Commerce. They love to hear low-cost ways to increase tourism......there wouldn't be any stadium or parking structure costs. Why not turn the criminals into assets for the area?

Life in prison will never be enough punishment for the senseless brutal murder of Brett. Dykeman is just a lying coward who proclaimed his noninvolvment to the very end. His smugness didn't last too long when the Jury returned their verdict after such a very short time.

Judge Roger M. Young essentially sentenced Dykeman when he sentenced Morgan Major to life in prison. He didn't have the guts to sentence her to death. Everyone should write our Governor and try to have something done about him serving as a Circuit Judge.

Not only did he get the sentence wrong in Brett's case but Judge Young recently reduced the sentence of the mother who murdered her twin babies from 20 to 8 years. What was he thinking???!!! He should NOT be sitting on the bench.

At least the two monsters are off the streets. I hope their lives will be MISERABLE in prison.

he should have gotten death and so should morgan-major. But it didnt happen. the family is just glad to put this phase behind them and move on to grieving and celebrating him. Every day in the courtroom was just like the day it happened. Nothing will ever make everything ok. even the death penalty.
