Thomas Ravenel says "I want to thank the Bureau of Prisons for locating me in an excellent facility"....

Former state Treasurer Thomas Ravenel is expected to leave Charleston Tuesday en route to begin serving his 10-month sentence for his cocaine conviction.

A friend is driving him to the federal lockup in Jesup, Ga., about an hour south of Savannah. He must report by noon Thursday.

Prior to his departure, Ravenel, 45, issued a statement.

South Carolina has the Nation's Lowest Cigarette Tax at 7 cents ...that's $.07 per pack

That's the lowest in the Nation folks...at 7 cents.

Governor Mark "Veto" Sanford has vetoed the 50 cents a pack cigarette tax lawmakers approved, which would raise the state's lowest-in-the-nation cigarette tax to 57 cents.

Senator expresses dismay with chief of state's prisons

Arthur Ravenel, Jr. Allegedly Threatens Job of School Superintendent "he had gotten rid of one "B*t*h!"...

..."Ravenel was in the district office when he told a district employee that he had gotten rid of one "bitch" and would get rid of another, referring to former schools Superintendent Maria Goodloe-Johnson and McGinley"...

Arrogance runs rampant in the Ravenel clan. While Thomas Ravenel is spewing arrogance just before entering prison, daddy Ravenel has a bout with arrogance and amnesia as well.

It's ALL clear to me now.

Senate gets Sanford veto of mini Farmer's Markets

Gov. Mark Sanford returned to the Senate today a resolution that would spend more than $40 million to relocate the state Farmer's Market from its Columbia location to Lexington County and build 10 mini Farmer's Markets around the state.

Sanford used his line item veto authority to delete about $21 million that would be used to build the 10 regional Farmer's Markets, including one in Richland County.

Illegal drunk drivers, continued... Beaufort County, SC

....A year and a half ago, my daughter in law was driving home from work at a restaurant in Hilton Head where she was working one evening, and an illegal drunk driver crossed the center line and hit her, causing a head on collision. He then got out of the car at the scene, etc.. She had a pneumothorax (collapsed lung) and was seriously injured and was rushed to Hilton Head Hospital, requiring 2 weeks stay in PCU with two different chest tubes, and almost did not make it. She endured much pain.
