So for over a year now if I have wanted to purchase DMC floss I have had to either drive to Bluffton to Michael's or order it online.

Walmart has started closing down their craft/fabric section. DMC floss was the first to go. None of the other "mom and pop" stores in town carry it, even though I have asked several times and know many people who are also in the same boat as I.

So....

Consider this a warning to all the hippy, tree hugging "You cant change our town!", "Keep the big business out of Beaufort!" people.

Anyone have anything in mind for our next Blixxer?

Personally I really liked Brewers. I loved the outdoor porch. The food wasnt over priced. The guys seemed to enjoy the brew. Service was good. And there was a wonderful view from a-top Bi-Lo for certain folks. hehe

I am out of town the 16th, 17th and 18th of May. Don't know if folks are wanting to meet up again that soon or not.

Does anyone here have or know anyone that has an embroidery machine that is willing to help out a local group?

We are working on a project and need about 30 duplicates of the same thing done. They are pretty small, but to large to do by hand within our time frame. We called for quotes around town... and oh my goodness goodness! WOW!

We would be more than willing to provide the materials and give some cash for the time. But can not spend the hundreds the shops around here are asking for.

Coming from a person who studies 1200 - 1600 I think she did a wonderful job with the costuming and completely deserved that Oscar.

Someone told me yesterday that an Olive Garden was going in by Arbys and Good Year. Have you heard anything about that? If you posted on this topic I must have missed it.

Does anyone have any plans to watch the eclipse tonight? It will be the last full lunar eclipse we will see until December of 2010.

Also with tonight's eclipse we are getting a special treat! If you have a telescope you will be able to see Saturn's rings pretty well.

Tonight when/if you are watching there will be what look like two very bright stars on either side of the moon. One will be Saturn and the other will be a star called Regulus. They say it is going to start around 10pm our time.

Were also going to have a full solar eclipse this year too.
