BEAUFORT: I Barrack Hussian Obama is elected to office, real military veterans will be in a world of hurt

I can't see how obama is going to make policy for something he knows nothing about.

eliminate Palin for the "heart beat away" position. Dick Cheney? How many others?

I believe McCain and Palin both have children in the military.

So did Cindy Sheehan, but I don't see that as qualifying her as commander in chief by any means.

What makes Obama qualified for this position?

He was raised in Chicago, an urban war zone - that's almost as good as Governor Palin's qualification of having seen Russia from flying up from Brevig Mission (KT3 to Joe) to view Russia, and having been "commander in chief" of the Alaska National Guard. I won't count Gov. Palin's support of the separatist, America hating AIP as "military" experience.

I don't see any of the four being "qualified" form a military standpoint, since none of them have held high ranking general officer positions in the services. Since the CiC is primarily a political leader of the military, a strong mix of military leadership and political experience in international affairs would be the ideal CV from my perspective.

So, based on that, Colin Powell would be the only "qualified" candidate for CiC. I have been highly aware of his absence in this campaign as a supporter of either party, as is also the case with Norman Schwartzkopf. My personal and unverified opinion is that Powell was handed a plateful of fertilizer to take before the UN. Being the quintessential good soldier, he will not speak out against his former CiC or policies, but also will not speak out for those.

That's another subject that could bear looking into; the interesting silence of former White house cabinet and advisers, and earlier retired military leaders.

We are settling once again for the lesser of two evils whichever way we vote. I'm reduced to deciding whether to vote for a (Democratic) single party government that will push its agenda on pet issues and sit on the rest of the nation's problems as the Republicans did for six of its eight years as a one party government, or vote to politically split the White house from Congress to gridlock them from doing any more damage.

Who are the unreal veterans? Could they possibly be the ones who disagree with you? Which type veteran are you? Do we now have real veterans and VINO's. Gimme a break. What are you a frustrated Swiftboat veteran. At this stage of the game it would be wise to cease with the OC Clown BS and give intelligent and reasonable facts why McCain should be elected.
But then I'm sure the Obama peeps are proud of your effort and laughing all the way to the ballot box.

Adracer1 please give me some good reasons why I shouldn't vote for McCain. What does Obama offer that is so good. Look I'm a young American I have two children and normal bills just like everyone else that live in the Middle Class. I want Change, I want our economy to be better, but I just don't want the let down of another inexperienced politician. He preaches CHANGE, but I'm not buying it.

That I too support McCain and will cast my vote for him. However at the moment he is behind and he is behind because far too many of his supporters have acted like a horses behind. The GOP talking heads have been very juvenile in their approach to this election and felt they could win it with lies and name calling. They got away with that tactic with W but not this time. The world is in chaos and it's time for change. Just not BO's style of change. Time to stick to the facts and leave the silly childish bs alone less we find ourselves with BO as prez. Dig up my OP where I outline 10 points of strategy to help McCain.
But remember that in the end it's all God's plan so if BO wins, well that's OK too.

Excellent observation! Quite frankly, I'm still undecided, and this is one of the reasons (see my other post in this topic for more). The Republican supporters have not presented a good image for themselves, nor have they articulated proposed solutions well. The overwhelming focus seems to have been on Obama's middle name (who gives a rat's butt), unrelated references to Revelations and "antiChrist", "terrorist" accusations and statistics presented as fact that are easily debunked. While the statements are usually unsupported by sources, some have links that actually dispute the poster's own statistics (one example was the numbers for military casualties under different presidents).

Basically, The McCain supporters who have spread political stuff have largely been spreading rants and inaccurate so many times that I've assumed the information to be wrong unless I can independently verify its accuracy.

Disclaimer - I treat all received information this way, but have had less work to do on the Democratic versions of the campaign drivel that lights up my screen.

What's the matter did I hit a nerve. I have a feeling that you and lostinsc are only veterans on a computer screen. Couldn't figure out what a "VINO" is. I was smart enouth to figure out lostinsc likes to have a long subject line so his post will knock other post off the front page. PS I have made my opinion count. See you at the VFW...lol

Posted by taxpayer2 - Mon, 2008-10-13 05:36

What's a "real" veteran? You more than anyone else should understand the acronym VINO. It stands for Veteran In Name Only.
And the reference to the VFW, well I don't normally frequent the place. But should you need some help there with your janitorial duties just let us "real" veterans know and we'll get you some help.

Posted by adracer1 - Mon, 2008-10-13 06:20

I did notice your use of "peeps". u b dis me? VINO, sure everyone knows what that stands for NOT. See if you can find out what lod stands for. Don't forget to bring you mop.
