Technology is for teens - at least for me!
Adracer posted something in another blog that I felt I should brong to a new blog simply because I don't want to get off topic in the other one. I hope he doesn't mind I did this.
I had a great day kayaking out behind Fripp. Got some pics but don't know how to upload/download/sideload whatever...maybe the kids will be home soon!!!
Adracer, I choked on my coffee and then spit it out in a fit of laughter at this sentence. I've done that same waiting game oh so many times for various electronics around the home. My pet peeve is when they watch a DVD, or play video games, in the livingroom and don't change the input back to regular TV. So after they are at school and I want to watch TV, I just get a dang blue screen. Everytime, I pick up both TV remotes and just stare at all 25 buttons on each, set them back down, and go do something else while thinking, "I'll just wait until the kids get home."
There have been many times I have been sitting with my laptop and one of my dogs come to me for some belly rubs. More often than not, they hit some key on the laptop and then something changes on the screen. Once, everything was so magnified, I couldn't read it. I looked, but found no magnifying key on the keyboard, so I was convinced the dog surely must have hit multiple keys at once to get this magnifying effect. I had to wait until my 13 yr old son came home from school and fixed it before I could use it again.
Ah, technology today does bring many joys to me, but also many frustrating hours of waiting until I can use it again.

The most irritating part of this topic is that it's not that these kids have taken courses to learn all this, they just somehow figure it out on their own! I don't have any at home any more, but the grandkids do it all the time. At school, I've just learned to 'suck it up' (as they say) and ask my students if they know any tricks to fix the things I can't figure out. I'm proud to say it doesn't happen often, but when it does one of them always has the answer!
