Who are the real "haters"...

I know the press likes to convict conservatives as hate mongers, but these comments from the liberals about Governor Palin really cross the line.

I agree, we need to drop the hammer on those who float garbage as fact, and don't bother to examine critically the information we receive and pass on.

I sometimes get a kick out of some of the ridiculous stuff that's being thrown about in emails, on Youtube and other internet venues, as they show me that there are some incredibly stupid people in the world, and shows the mentality of some of the people who will select the leader of the greatest nation in the free world.

Witness th e following little piece of deathless prose I've received twice from two of my Republican friends who asked me to forward it. I thought your topic would be the perfect place to put it, as it represents the hate and fear-mongering put out, and the willingness to forward without any attempt at even verifying the non-existent "40 year old Muslim" Revelations "prediction".

This email goes to show that such garbage is not limited to one party or political persuasion;

The Book of Revelation!
This will make you re-think:

A Trivia question in Sunday School:

How long is the beast allowed to have authority in Revelation?

Guess the Answer? Revelations Chapter 13:5 tells us it is 42 months.

And you know what that is. Almost a four-year term to a Presidency.
All I can say is Lord Have Mercy on us.!!!!!!

According to The Book of Revelation the anti-Christ is:
(NOW REMEMBER THIS IS IN THE BIBLE NOT MADE UP.)
READ REVELATION. YOU TOO WILL SEE.

The anti-Christ will be a man, in his 40's, of MUSLIM descent, who will
deceive the nations with persuasive language, and have a MASSIVE
Christ-like appeal....the prophecy says that people will flock to him
and he will promise false hope and world peace, and when he is in power,
will destroy everything .....
READ YOUR BIBLES, PEOPLE. IT'S COMING FASTER THAN SOME OF US THINK.
NOVEMBER ELECTION IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER.

Is it OBAMA?? I STRONGLY URGE each one of you to repost this as many
times as you can! Each opportunity that you have to send it to a friend
or media outlet...do it! I refuse to take a chance on this candidate who
came out of nowhere.

I've always had a deep intuition concerning Obama ....
I John 2:18-27 affirms our salvation and condemns any who believe there
are more ways to the Father except through Jesus Christ the Son (a recent direct
quote from Barak Obama! is that there are many ways to God). Is OUR trial inevitable?
Is this part of the plan of the last days? The election could be a good indication.

Does one laugh at this kind of stuff - or cry at the fact that people may be dumb enough to believe it?

about GWB being the anti christ.

But I have not seen conservative celebraties say Hillary Clinton needs to be gang raped. While the news media and other liberals sitting idle and don't condemn Sandra Bernhard and others.

These comments are deplorable and these people should be held accountable.

I hope you mean by "these people" all the comments and not just one political side. I have no use for "liberal" or "conservative" trolls and ranters. They all are an embarrassment to America and should be roundly criticised by their peers and intelligent society alike. All they do is paint their own cause with a dirty brush.

I too have received this e-mail (most disturbingly from Christian friends).
The book of Revelation clearly lays out the events leading up to Christ's return. While Obama may fit some of the criteria for the Antichrist, so have many others in history. I do not believe BO is the Antichrist, however, I also do not live in fear that I may be wrong. Revelation clearly lays out a time table. According to Paul the "Church" will be raptured prior to the Antichrist's innauguration. What disturbs me is that the Christians who spread this type of "fear" apparently think that the passing of an e-mail and voting against Obama will circumvent God's will. While I will not be voting for Obama, if it is God's will that he be elected, then so be it. As a Christian, I have nothing to fear. I will be gone from this Earth before all Hell(literally) breaks loose. It's a matter of perspective.

BS

I had the occasion to have lunch at the White House three months after Clinton was elected. I had been appointed to a committee by GHWB and his crew before he left office and laid the whole mess on Slick Willie. I had to go through the same receiving line that everyone is forced to do, and it was a terrible experience. I shook Hillary's hand first....the firm handshake of a mountain man or committed lesbian! I then shook Bill's deadfish hand, the one my Dad told me to never trust.....I knew at that moment that I had met the true AntiChrist!!!!! GW is nothing but a minor troll in the AntiChrist game, little more than his Dad: GHWB or his GrandDad: Prescott Bush...the maker of several corrupt Presidents!

So, if governor Palin has a firm handshake, we can assume ... what? Mountain men in Alaska can field dress a moose, and so can governor Palin, to her credit.(She must save a bundle on her grcery bill!)

I don't travel in lesbian or gay circles, though. So, unlike yourself, I can't present myself as an authority on their handshakes.

Ultimately, the connection between your observations and subsequent conclusions are, to be charitable, Non Sequitur - including any antichrist connections to GHWB, GWB, Clinton or any other president.

Thanks for another example of the kind of stuff being spread on the internet. :-)

A little bit of both, I suppose. I still hold out hope for humanity, although it isn't always easy.

Generally speaking of the tone of the blogs though, I must say that as a person of color who lives on St. Helena Island, I often have to hold my tongue while reading them.

Although I am generally kind to everyone, some of these comments compel me to wonder who my neighbors in Beaufort County *really* are.

That is unfortunate because this is my home and this is where I chose to raise my family.

I just hope that I can teach my children well enough to not internalize such negativity and certainly not to take it personally even though many generalizations tend to run rampant here. *sigh*

I still hold out hope.
