About a couple of months ago, I remember a post for a local business got deleted because it was perceived to be advertising. It was about a cleaning company, but the post pointed out the emphasis the business has on hiring mostly single mothers and not only providing them with suplemental income, but also help educate them on how to get their financial, health care an retirement business in order. Sure it was a business, but it was a business that cared about more than just profit. I think the point of her post here was more to look for women who needed that kind of help than it was to look for business.
Sure this post talks about a free dance lesson, but is it too much of a stretch to think their intent with the free lesson is to create prospects for future business? Also, isn't this about the third time we see something like this from them? I have my own business. Can I just mention all the free services we offer?
Sounds like advertising, or is it just me?

I'll say one thing stoney_pe, if the 'advertising' is for a liberal social cause, then it is politics and not income producing intent, therefore the advertising is really not advertising but political content. . . .

Instead of whining here, why not simply shoot Steve B an email and ask him. It is not like his only job is being Blog Cop, so therefore unless he knows about it, he can't edit the post. You need to not complain but take action if you think it is a improper post /. . . Steve finds out most of the time from bloggers of illicit posts - or - the bad word filter.

Just so its clear...we do advertise in our local papers. And it was them who suggested that we use the Blog as a tool to get the word out to those who don't pick up a newspaper. We're sorry if you feel that we have taken advantage of the situation in any way.

I could just ask Steve directly, but I just wanted to see first if I am the only reader who feels this way. I am in a way taking action by first creating a grass roots movement.
My dream is to become a community organizer of sorts. These days, that might get me all the way to the white house were it not for that not being born here thing.
P.S. You can call me just Stoney, Mr. Farrell.

Don't worry. No one will call you Stoney_pe, but would it be ok if we call you KT, or KTOGP32, or Haynesworth, or Tengai2008, or Lisa, or Luther?
Or how about this?
"...I can be your long lost pal
I can call you Betty
And Betty when you call me
You can call me Al..."
