I probably missed it, but what is your unsatisfactory experience with BCSD and SPED?
The term "Special Education" encompasses an extremely wide and varied number of conditions - from minimal to profound - where does your situation fall within this range?
I've had some experience with the District and the SPED program over the last 14 years. Certainly not all of it has been positive, but neither can I say that it has been overwhelmingly negative.
Is DDSN involved? COSY? Child Advocacy?

Aare you aware they are in bed with each other. many of the people in cosy are the people you deal with in the school district. ddsn is brain washed since the state signs their checks. they do not want to rock the boat. advocates who receive state funding do not want to rock the boat.

I am unaware of just who washes their brains. Their clients wash their cars. COSY has a board member from the school district and representation at staffings also. It is no more stacked with BCSD staff than it is with Drug and Alcohol, DJJ or DHEC.
You seem to be drifting away from your earlier post concerns about programs and services and headed toward personal issues and broad generalizations.
Get back on track.
i stand corrected. i do not have your experinece with them but who sends money to the county? the state.

and a big chunk comes from the feds. I don't understand what you mean by "brainwashed" Nor do I understand how you believe COSY and DDSN are denying and hindering children from receiving special education services.
Should you change your name to"iwillaskthequestions" or "iwant2badmouthandthatsit"? Are you part of a group from Healthlink? Why not set up an email account and post the addy so you can bash people and agencies without having them respond?
Did you remove earlier threads?

I've been dealing with BCSD and special needs since 1993, and continue to do so. I am attempting to help you with whatever issues you might have. Perhaps your situation falls outside of my experience, perhaps not.
You seem to be angry and frustrated - been there, done that - more than once.
What kind of problems, challenges are you having?
BTW - I am quite familar with COSY and have a favorable opinion of their ability to facilitate services with the caveat that one must recognize that they don't always get what exactly what they want.
Have you met with them?
what happened to frustrate you in the district?
A mission to correct some real or perceived wrong done to you or your child.
To win a war you have to engage in battles, one at a time. I suggest that you address whatever your current, and most urgent, un-met needs are - then go on from there to other things, other battles and maybe you can win the war that you seem to want.
Other than agreeing (or disagreeing) in a very broad sense that there are problems with SPED education, I don't think your current pursuits will accomplish anything. You're carpet bombing and using shotguns in the vain hope that something will hit your specific problem.
There may well be somebody out there who can give you some advice in addressing your situation - but that advice will never be made to you if the person(s) don't know what the situation is - what help or advice you need.
Is it academic? Is it physical therapy? Occupational therapy? Behavior? Transportation? There are so many different areas, and the fact that every student's situation is different - hence an IEP, that more specific information is necessary to provide assistance.
If you don't want to post it here, send an email - to me, or somebody else who might be able to help.
Your virtual hollering, ranting, raving and waving your arms whilst you jump up and down in anger isn't going to accomplish anything except to raise your blood pressure.
I'll butt out now, awaiting your "invitation" to discuss the matter further.
i promise to be more specific later. i cannot at this time while other parents can afford to do so.
