New sports activity for schooldays

NYC is beginning a new program of sports for their students. It's called "Double Dutch".

Great exercise! How many of us city kids remember double dutch? Of course, we had school playgrounds with no dirt, just paved with asphalt, so rope jumping was a good sport - tired us out during recess times, so maybe that's why we kids were ready to sit down and were well-behaved in school during classes. No slapping or whipping of students in my schooldays. It was absolutely unheard of! We were raised and watched over by the whole neighborhood of residents around the school streets. Policemen acted as crossing guards.

It was tough to get into a double dutch game when the two ropes were already turning. Wasn't it at the start, "Blue bells, cockle shells, evy, ivy, OVER"?
