T. Boone Pickens had better have a lot of money ready for the battle to develop alternative fuels. Of course everyone is aware of the frantic push to get more drilling rights for oil companies before President Bush leaves office.....
But did you know that according to the July/August edition of Public Citizen News, in 2007 the Federal government spent $5.8 billion in 2007 on renewable energy and conservation PROGRAMS, and $30 billion on subsidies to the fossil fuel and nuclear INDUSTRIES?
If you feel like helping T. Boone, you might give your members of Congress a call and urge them to support him.

Be careful on what Pickens is pushing as he makes a fortune on high oil prices. In the short run we need to bring the price at the pump and what it costs to heat a home in the winter down as its gonna crunch the ecomony. High oil prices are reeking havoc on the stock market and pushing the value of the dollar down. This is something the left wants so they can push their socialist religion.
The U.S. dollar has been falling for a long time. It didn't just happen since the Democrats took over the legislative branch.
we currently import about 70 percent of the oil we use, thats a lot of money going out. Its deflating the US dollar. The controlling government we have needs to back off and allow drilling.
