What Happened On Lady's Island

This morning about 15 police cars went flying by my house with lights and sirens on Sam's Point Rd. in the direction of Coosaw. They were not all grouped together, it was as if they were responding to a call. I thought it might be on the BG website, but alas I'm reminded it takes awhile for a reporter to get from Bluffton to Beuafort so who really cares. At any rate if anyone has any details I'm interested even if BG isn't.

I'm reading this - at the Gazette office in Beaufort - at 9:05 a.m. You posted it at 8:20, so apparently it happened shortly before then. We'll check on it right away and post something to the site when we have the information, but just because it wasn't on beaufortgazette.com 30 seconds after it happened doesn't mean we're not interested.

And to clear up a misconception, the Gazette newsroom is still headquartered on Salem Road in Beaufort. Yes, we'll be moving to Bluffton eventually, but it hasn't happened yet. And even when it does, we'll have another office in Beaufort, and our coverage of this community is not going to change.

Thanks. We don't have reporters scheduled to work at 2 a.m., but we'll check this morning and have something online as soon as we have the details.

By the way, Bamacub posted this. I hate it when he posts under my name by mistake. :)

Our reporter has checked with the folks at the sheriff's office, who told him they have nothing to report about a 2 a.m. incident on Lady's Island. Apparently there was a fire on the island around 1 a.m., but that doesn't sound like what you described. If we get a report from the sheriff's office confirming what happened, we'll post it on beaufortgazette.com.

do your job you know the police might not tell you when something happens. that is there first responce i know nothing, i see nothing, i hear nothing, there for nothing must have happend. just kidding to a point. just rember to ask them in about a week and mabe they will have something to say. it might have been the fire at 2 am they probly had nothing to do so respond to the fire might have to rout traffic around it. lol. and besides i dout there were 30 deputies on duty at 2 am there is only about 120 all together. sorry i thought it said 30 it was 15 still a little much to a fire but never know.
