Im mad!

So for over a year now if I have wanted to purchase DMC floss I have had to either drive to Bluffton to Michael's or order it online.

Walmart has started closing down their craft/fabric section. DMC floss was the first to go. None of the other "mom and pop" stores in town carry it, even though I have asked several times and know many people who are also in the same boat as I.

So....

Consider this a warning to all the hippy, tree hugging "You cant change our town!", "Keep the big business out of Beaufort!" people.

I swear to you I am going to write a program to spam the hell out of Michael's, AC Moore and Hobby Lobby begging them to consider moving into Beaufort to help those of us who are stuck in this pickle.

It may not be this year, may not be next year but it is going to happen. And when it does, I'm going to tell all of you who constantly complain about our locally owned businesses getting thrown out of business to blow it out your hind parts. If they listened to the LOCAL people who want to purchase LOCALLY it wouldn't happen.

And yes: This is all over DMC floss. Yes, it is.

to finish your important project by next week? Give me a call for I may have it. I know where you are coming from Steph---can't find many of my doll-making supplies either so I can add a few things to your spam list. Have a wonderful trip this weekend--let me know if I can help.

Size 5 pearl cotton thread #'s 725, 796 and B5200 is what I need.

I ordered some online but it wont be here until Tuesday at best. The project uses one 6 foot length of 725, two six foot lengths of 796 and three six foot lengths of B5200. And I need to get about 20 of them done! haha

I wanted to have them ready for the event next weekend. (Not going this weekend by the way, its next weekend and yes that other project is finished thank everything holy)I think I am going to have to make a trip to Michael's some time this weekend to get started and volunteer the kids to help! haha I dread that trip to Bluffton. Ugh the traffic.

I have to go to Walterboro tomorrow, anyone know if there is a craft store there that may sell it by chance?

Found 796-don't know if it is enough but at least you can get started. Have a couple of projects that I started (and never finished) so I'll start looking through those Haven't been to Walterboro in years so who knows what's there now. If you find a fabric shop somewhere check there--sometimes they carry DMC. Let me know if you want to pick this up on your way home.

As a knitter, I can sympathize. Wal-Mart's yarn section is great...if I want to make something out of acrylic. And while I love independently owned, hand-spun yarns, they're waaaay too expensive. I need some middle ground.
