The other two have injuries that are not as easily spotted from the sidelines. They are directed off a bus to a tent with open sides where the guardsmen are able to assess the situation.

My escort, Spc. Erica Knight, said the role players each have injuries that could result from situations the Guard may encounter when responding to an emergency. The drill is meant to give the EMED team real world experience in dealing with mass injuries.
This week's scenario, a massive earthquake, spawned several other situations such as today's building collapse which produced the "victims."

At 9:30 a.m., another round of "victims" roll up to the EMED tent. This group have more severe injuries with bones protruding from legs, pipes through torsos and head trama.
