Earth Day, Tired of Being Preached at . . .

Is anyone else tired of being preached at about environmentalism and 'green.' NONE of what corporate America does is green. They make stuff and sell stuff and no matter what it is, it damages the environment. No matter what you use, be it bamboo underwear or hemp sweaters, it takes energy to process the material and therefore you 'damage' the environment.

I am tired tired tired of being preached at by the Press and Media about 'being green.' I started using CFL's in 1993; I turned down my thermostat and hot water heater twenty years ago, I drive a vehicle that works for me while using the least amount of fuel possible. You folks want to 'be green,' and feel all soft and cuddly about it, great, stop annoying me. I am doing my part, just not as flashy and in need of self-aggrandizement as you.

I think it is important that we are all stewards of the Earth, that means using but not abusing the resources God gave us on this Earth. It means being respectful and using what you need, and not wasting resources. Like having the appliances plugged in or turned on when you are on vacation for 2 weeks. Or driving the Hummer to the drive through to eat food when you are already 50lbs overweight.

well the whole week I am celebrating :)
I am glad that you are doing so many things to help out, and I am sorry you feel annoyed. Hopefully others are becoming as conserative with thier usage of electricity as you have been.

What's wrong with Earth day. We would all be better off if this was an all year activity.

We only have one mother earth. Let's pass it on a little better than we inherited her.
