Tom Davis will make four stops throughout Beaufort County on Monday to formally announce his candidacy for the District 46 Senate seat.
Davis, a Republican who already has filed his election paperwork, will run against state Sen. Catherine Ceips.
Ceips, R-Beaufort, served in the state House from 2002-07 before taking her seat in the Senate after a special election.
Davis is a Beaufort attorney and formerly Gov. Mark Sanford’s chief of staff. He also served on the S.C. State Ports Authority’s board of directors.
The two will meet in a June primary.
Davis’ campaign will stop at:
* 9:30 a.m.: 914 Boundary St.
* noon: Calhoun Street Promenade, 1297 May River Road, Bluffton
* 3 p.m.: The Pavilion at Sun City Hilton Head
* 5:30 p.m.: Sticky Fingers, 34 Palmetto Bay Road, Hilton Head Island

their are a lot of votes SOB and if you get all of those then you'll win. have you looked at a cenus track recently? it's easy math. ask ceips b/c she was on the side bridge going on to hilton head in a red dress last time around. she goes in and out of sun city like she is a local......so turn your brain on.

Rod Shealy has already agreed to take a lie detector test so why wont Tom Davis?

If he is telling the truth this is the perfect way to show that the one lying in all of this is ROd Shealy. Unless of course the one lying is (well you can fill in that blank).

Ceips, Bates, Shealy, ( and you silly misguided bloggers who seem devoted to them) are a 3-ring circus! Step right up folks! Maybe Ms. Ceips will wear her red dress for a trapeze act!
How incredibly stupid and ignorant people in Beaufort are. The people in Columbia that matter - those that control the money - are looking at Beaufort and shaking their heads. Should Davis win - we can kiss any help from the state good bye. Meanwhile - people that have never spent one day in politics make comments about Rod Shealy as if they really know what goes on in SC. How foolish Beaufort looks to the rest of SC.
Cipes or Davis
Cipes has done nothing, Zilch and Zippo for the district. She has no political capitol or influence to spend in Columbia. No allies and just a few paid friends around her locally (Bates and Shealey). Goggle them both
Davis knows the ropes, is well connected in Columbia and has the political capitol and good will needed to work the system for us. He has many friends at the capitol and in Beaufort. He can bring the much needed funding back to Beaufort.
Cipes does not communicate well with her general constituents or the State Representative(s) in her senate district! Ask you state representative.
Davis can work the floor in the Capitol and bring deals together for us in the lowcountry.
Now let’s sit back and watch as Cipes and her cronies, Bates and Shealey disgrace the election system and us again, with classic dirty and confusing campaigning.

Please tell me what Ceips has done that is positive? She runs negative campaigns, attacks whoever-whenever, and has no morals (ADULTRY with Rep Scarabourgh). Her campign is run by, Rod Shealy, the most negative campaign manager in the state of South Carolina. Ask around.
No one is that stupid to believe what you are saying!! Com'on Beaufort County JUST SAY NO TO CEIPS.....sounds like a great bumper sticker? But I love: Senator Ceips-How LOW will SHE GO? Now that's a bumper sticker!!
What an insult you have made to the people of Beaufort. No one in Columbia looks at this fine city and shakes their head. They may shake their heads in disbelief at some of the stupid decisions that are made here, they may shake their heads and smirk at our Senator Ceips, but beg ya paaaahhdon about the rest of your post!
Furthermore, the candidate herself is the one responsible for what her election team does. No if, and, or buts about that.
On Aug 13 2007 Ian Leslie (a cyclist who happens to work for a newspaper) wrote a blog entry on the efforts the Gazette was making to obtain a BIO on then candidate Randy Bates. Rod Shealy, Bates campaign manager, declined to offer the info and advised Bates to decline also. Shealy did offer to negotiate a pre approved questionaire but the Gazette declined that offer. So we were left with little knowledge of the candidate.
Now we get Bates and Shealy together again. Shealy is definitely "the Man" with Bates in his normal lap dog role.
I would like to see a show of hands of those who believe the Shealy/Bates story 100%. Please come forward and ID yourself and say without a doubt you honestly and absolutely believe the story.
Before you answer that you may want to take a drive to Columbia, stop by the Lizards Thicket and check the kitchen/wait staff/clientelle. Make sure you don't see any familiar faces before you answer.
I hear that a group of immigrants will be playing soccer at Basil Green later today. I think I'll stop by and see if Bates is there with his camera and translator.
btw the Gamecocks beat Kentucky in Columbia yesterday. The game was good but the lunch was much better.
I just wonder how many bars will be along the stop route. TD would make a great drinking partner but a lousy senator!

On second thought I just may vote for that Rich Spoiled Republican Tommy Boy Davis. He would fit right in up there. A liar, I mean a lawyer who likes to save money. We all know how saving money is sooo important to these Rich Republicans they can't even pay for our kids education. Tommy Boy has already proven he can save money by screwing the taxapayers and legal workers.

You make sound bites a joke with the “he hire illegal immigrants”, in all three blogs… And now the bottle?
Character destruction it is what you are aiming towards with Davis?
Guess what? You are bringing more attention to the guy, saving him more money on he’s campaign, because for what I did read everybody knows Ceips life history, so you say one thing about Davis and there it is like at least three answers back at you with Ceips disgraces.
Honestly, I will never read so much about her life than when this whole backfire fiasco political campaign came about. I will never would have known anything of the things written here by other bloggers.
So apart from the whole issue backfiring on her, do you really thing trashing Davis will help her now?
Sometimes let it go and stay quiet it is the best policy in cases like this.
If I was running Ceips campaign I would expect mucho dinero.
I might be missing somehting here but it seems everybody wants to beat up on someone until it is their buddy. So its okay to dish it out but not take it. You like chocolate. I like vanilla. Or is it if you can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen. And so my fellow americans in conclusion the only thing we have to fear is fear itself.
