A touching story

If you haven't read Brandon Parker's column in this morning's Gazette about Beaufort High School athlete Seth Konoza and his late mother, take a few minutes and give it a look. http://www.beaufortgazette.com/sports/columns/brandonparker/story/231729.html
It's a touching story about an excellent student-athlete who was motivated by his mom, who died of cancer on Feb. 3.

For those of us lucky enough to know (and love) the Konoza family, this article represents what we all knew already; Holly lived her life for her family and her Lord - and she lives on in her sons. It's a lovely tribute to both Holly and Seth. While I wish Seth good luck and God speed as he takes the next step in his young life, I know he really doesn't need it, because Holly's right there guiding him!
The Gazette is lucky to have Mr. Parker on staff; I've met him and am impressed by both his reporting skills and his pleasant personality.
Mr. Parker, it's not often that you get a tug on the heart strings at 6am, but your story on Seth Konoza and his mom was wonderfully done. Thanks also for telling your own story as well. Everyone who knows the Konoza's, has known all along that they are special. Their charity, service, and friendship are as infinite as their faith, character, and courage. Seeing Mike and the boys perservere through their grief is solid evidence that they truly are "standing on the promises of God", and Brandon we now know that you too have allowed God's love to lighten your darkness. It is such a blessing to me to see fine young men such as Seth and Brandon overcome the adversities of this broken world by remaining grounded in their faith while seeking the strength of our Savior.
