So long Favre

Brett Favre called it quits Tuesday, ending an impressive 17-year career.
Thank God it’s finally over. As a lifelong Chicago Bears fan, I’m glad to see him go.
My memories of Favre are not fond ones.
I never liked him, but I used to respect him. That was before he started pulling all this on-again, off-again retirement talk each offseason. That was before he started crying after every game, in every news conference and during every interview.
And it was long before the Favre-John Madden love affair began (watching your favorite team play the Packers when Big John was in the booth was brutal).
Over the next couple of days I’m sure we’re going to hear all about the Legend of Favre, how he changed everybody’s life and how he’s one of the greatest players in the history of the NFL. I just hope when it all finally settles down, he doesn’t stir it all back up with a comeback.
Go out like Elway, not Magic!
Speaking of the NFL, my wardrobe got some good news late Tuesday when the Bears reacquired free agent receiver Marty Booker.
I retired his No. 86 jersey after he left for Miami. Now that MartyBall is back, I can start wearing it again. Now I just need Anthony Thomas, Marcus Robinson and Cade McNown to return so I can break out those jerseys too.
