Ceremony postponed

So, I was talking with school board member Jim Bequette this afternoon when he received a call telling him that the groundbreaking ceremony for Whale Branch High School had been canceled.
"Is that ominous, or what?" he asked the caller. His words, not mine, but depending on who you talk to the words could be ominous. The weather should blow out later today, but the storm over the school could linger.
Though the latest in a long line of delays, this one should be short-lived. I'll be interesting to see the program that superintendent Valerie Truesdale implements in the school. Whale Branch Middle School students have a 50 percent dropout rate, according to Bequette.

Yesterday's weather was perfect for that ceremony. A lot of wind is indicative of such a wind breaking, I mean, ground breaking ceremony.
And wow, what a strong response by Bequette. "OMINOUS", huh, careful with that kind of language Jim, next thing you know you'll be saying things like, "Gosh Darn" and "Golly Gee", to define the stupidity of this (WBHS) project.
btw, if the new (pet project), I mean, high school, requires a redrawing of attendance lines for students, then we need to make sure that the lines for Board members are redrawn. Time to pry out a few rusty nails.
