Publix again?

According to a report by Lolita Huckaby, the county council has approved a zoning change that will allow a larger store at the Highway 21/Polawanna intersection. Since McBride, rep for St Helena approves of the supermarket at that location, we will probably see one there. I asked him about his vision, and he says that he still wants the island rural, but a "cluster development" at that location is acceptable.

"The council gave third and final reading Monday night to a zoning change that allows for the eventual construction of a large commercial structure, reportedly a Publix grocery, at the intersection of U.S. 21 and Polawana Road on St. Helena Island".

When was it reported that it was a Publix?
Publix may change their mind after the zoning change that will allow more parking. I don't know how she said "reportedly a Publix grocery". I guess we'll wait and see.
Seems like they wanted to keep this meeting on the low.
"he still wants the island rural, but a "cluster development" at that location is acceptable.HELLO you can't have it both ways.If they let a publix be built there. Then who's to say they wont let other big commercial businesses. One will follow the other.Therefor it wont rural now will it!!
