The dates for Beaufort County Schools are listed incorrectly in the "Holiday closings" section here and in the print edition of the Gazette. The traditional calendar schools are closed through Friday, January 4th (resuming Monday, January 7th), and the year-round calendar schools are closed through Friday, January 11th (resuming Monday, January 14th.)
The link shown below is to the BCSD web site for the calendars. The confusion probably comes from the fact that the district had two weather days built in to each calendar during this break. We didn't have to use any weather days this year, so they become winter break days by default.
