Story I just heard....small sub-contractor bids for jobs with builder, sub-contractor is required to provide all his info, business / builder's license, etc. when he submits his bid. Builder does not use the subcontractor, but awards the job to another subcontractor (who has illegal workers) and uses first subcontractors builder's and business license info that was given in the bid.

Discovering a seep under the kitchen sink, I spent 45 minutes pulling and pretty much destroying the drain assembly connecting my sink to the garbage disposal. Carefully cleaned it up, went to the local "box" store and handed it to a sales associate wearing a name tag and under it "plumbing". Guy looked at it, asked me what it was from (not a good sign) I told him it was the drain assembly that went to the kitchen garbage disposal...he stated he'd "never seen anything like that".

any YRS teachers out there that can explain to me what's doin' with the paycheck thing? I'm hearing things that sound really strange...if it was my check, I'd be asking questions BIG TIME! 26 paychecks now going to 27..BUT the checks will not double up during one pay period...if there are only 52 weeks in a year, divide that by 2 (1 every two weeks) you can only get 26....?????? must be using that new math thing... no teacher I've asked can explain it....

Is there a place where the county budget is posted on-line?...I mean a line-by-line document that shows what each department received?

I know it's kinda outta the way - but if you're in the area give "The Lunch Lady" a try. It's in the little strip mall to the right after you turn off 170 at Cherry Point....sandwiches and stuff like that - also advertised a homemade chocolate chip ice cream sandwich if you're not looking for a meal and want a treat - they open 8 am to 3 pm and breakfast sounded awesome - I had a sandwich and it was more than I could eat.

I figured I'd tap into the wealth of knowledge here...anybody got any suggestions for a yard company that handles diagnosing and treating problems with insects, diseases and just plain ignorance ...guy I got now obviously hasn't got a clue

Just moments ago, the South Carolina Senate unanimously approved House Bill 4662. This is the bill to reform the Accountability Act and reflects the requests of parents and teachers across the state to replace the PACT test and to make other revisions to the accountability system.

I'm not talking about during storms, but we're usually the first to go - we lose power at our house about 2 to sometime 3 times a week...mostly just a BLAM and the power goes out - no reason - then flutters and comes back on. A lot of times if blinks during the day while we're at work and we have to reset all our clocks, micro wave - VCR, bring the computer back up....this is a very regular thing...who do you call with SCE&G? That's not normal is it? Can't that damage electronic equipment - HVAC, TV's, computers?- the rest of the neighborhood / area is ready to start a petition.
