ADHD/ADD help in Bft???

Does anyone know of any resources, support groups, counselors anything/anyone that deals with ADHD/ADD in Beaufort or close by? The schools don't seem to be much help unless your child has a "LD". If they are very bright it seems help is limited. If anyone has information it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :)

Football Camp

Does anyone know if BA will be having a Football camp this summer? If so when?

BG's lack of Youth sports coverage

Can anyone tell me why the BG does not report ANYthing on Bft Co PALS youth sports? The only time you ever see anything it's the standings. These are never up to date or correct. I personally don't think it would take much effort to cover a sporting event.Drive out to any ball field or PALS complex on a Sat and you'll find plenty to write about. These little kids devote so much time and play their hearts out.I think they deserve some kind of recognition other than when they make it to Allstars,etc..??

Help Save Frosty...

I was so sad to hear some rather silly news today. My family went to "The snowman" on Ladys Island to get our Christmas tree. While checking out I noticed a petition. When I asked what is - Help Save Frosty??? I was told that these folks are not allowed to have their big snowman up because it violates some sign ordinance. How STUPID is this? I mean let's get real it's a couple of weeks out of the year. This snowman is a tradition of my family and I'm sure many others. What harm is it to have him up for the Christmas season?I know there are those of you who don't agree....Please keep your negative thoughts to yourself.I just wanted to let the people who visit these same VERY friendly, hard working people every year know that we may be losing Mr.Snowman.How sad..first some of the stores can't even say Merry Christmas. Now, we can't have a snowman either? What is this world coming to?

Traditional or year round school? Shouldn't this be our choice?

I have recently heard several people discussing our lovely BCSD and their decision to put all schools back on a traditional calendar.I am not sure about the rest of you,but the year round has been wonderful. My children get a nice break when needed and when it's time to return they have not been out of school for so long(3mo) they've forgotten the many things they learned. After contacting the district to find if there was truth to this matter...Dr.Wall was not in and the only explination from the person on the phone was it's a financial matter? I'm sorry a WHAT? The children would still attend the same amt of days and have the same holidays so I wasn't quite sure how money matters had anything to do with this.I believe that we as tax payers,parents..etc should have some say in this.I am NOT for the traditional calendar. My children love the year round as I am sure many other families do.Shouldn't the people who will be affected by this have some say in the matter? Something has to be done!
