If you missed my blog on April 19th (http://www2.beaufortgazette.com/blogs/post/19191), I did a little more sleuthing. It seems I'm not the only one who remembers a man by the name of Tom Davis spending a lot of time hanging around in Five Points with a well-known newspaper journalist. A couple other people who lived in Five Points at the time said I was not mistaken in my understanding of what was going on. And soon after all this, our gentleman suddenly left Columbia and returned to Beaufort for a short while. Hardly a mystery, I'd say!

When I saw the name Tom Davis, I knew I remembered it from somewhere. I think this is the same man who was known to be having an affair with a journalist who lived near me in Five Points a few years ago. I'm not 100% sure this is him, but I recall it being someone high-ranking in the gov's office. Anybody else got a clue?
